What Upwork freelancers wrote this summer
Public posts, quoted word for word. Every link opens the original thread.
“Even though I refresh the page every 1–2 minutes, many jobs only show up after 20–30 minutes. By the time I see them, the job often already has 20–50 proposals submitted.”
“…my feed has almost gone dry, just 1-3, maybe 5 relevant jobs are showing daily where last month it was 3-5 an hour.”
“Apparently refreshing too much makes you look like a bot.”
These are complaints about Upwork's own job feed, not reviews of FreelanceFilter. Nobody quoted here is a customer and nobody quoted here is endorsing this product.

Common Questions
Quick answers to help you get started.
Is there an RSS feed alternative for Upwork?
Upwork switched off RSS and Atom on 20 August 2024 and did not replace them. FreelanceFilter is the stand-in: you set the same criteria you would have put in a feed URL, and matching jobs are pushed to Discord, Slack or your own webhook.
Is this allowed by Upwork?
FreelanceFilter reads publicly available job listings — the same ones any visitor can see. It never signs into your Upwork account, never bids, and never submits a proposal for you; you still apply manually as normal. Review Upwork's current terms for your own use case.
Do I still have to refresh the page constantly?
No. The monitor runs on a schedule — as often as every 15 minutes on Signal, every 5 minutes on First Responder — and pushes matches to you when they appear. The free Scout plan runs manual searches only.
Do I need my browser open for this to work?
No. There is no extension and nothing runs in your browser. Scheduled monitors run on our servers, so they keep working with your computer switched off.
Can I filter bad clients?
Yes. Quality Guard filters on minimum hire rate, minimum client rating (1–5), payment verification, and allowed or excluded client locations.
Can I get the jobs through an API or webhook?
Webhook, yes. Matching jobs are POSTed as structured JSON to any endpoint you control — your own server, Make.com, n8n, Zapier, or a cloud function.
Where does the job data come from?
Our servers read Upwork's public job listings on the schedule you set — not an RSS feed, not a browser extension, and never your Upwork account. Upwork switched RSS and Atom off on 20 August 2024 and never replaced them; nothing here parses a feed. These are the same postings you can open yourself. No private data is accessed, and you never connect or log in to your Upwork account.
